PhaNgan Animal Care (PAC) is primarily a nursing clinic, providing nursing and veterinary care for the island’s stray and unwanted animals. We have a dedicated neutering and vaccination programme, which has made an enormous difference to population control on the island, as well as the health of the individual animals.

Case of the month:
This month our case of the month is 'Elsie'. Elsie is a stray dog who lives in/around on off the main roads just outside the biggest town on the island. Elsie had been known to PAC staff for a while and had a mammary tumour which was increasing in size over time.
She was in otherwise good health for an older Thai dog, so when a volunteer vet visted Koh Phangan ,the decision was made to remove the tumour.
Elsie underwent 2 and ½ hours of surgery and the tumour was successfully removed and she was spayed at the same time. Elsie remained at the clinic overnight and then went back to her familiar surroundings the next day, where the local people who kindly feed her were very happy to see her.
Elsie now lives a happy life and PAC staff visit her to provide regular worming and tick and flea treatment.

If you would like to sponsor Elsie or any of our other animals please refer to our sponsor a dog scheme.
